Hosted Five-Day National Training Program on 'Controlled Source Seismic and Gas Hydrate Exploration'
CSIR-NGRI, with Dr. Shib S Ganguli as the main coordinator, organized a five-day national training program on "Controlled Source Seismic Techniques and Gas Hydrate Exploration" under the CSIR Skilled Development Initiative, aligned
with the vision of Viksit Bharat. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Prakash Kumar, Director, CSIR–NGRI, and brought
together young researchers, scholars and early-career professionals from across the country for advanced learning and hands-on exposure in seismic exploration and gas hydrate resource assessment. During the inaugural session, Dr. Abhay Ram Bansal,
Scientist-G and Head, CSIR–NGRI Skilled India Initiative, emphasized the importance of capacity building and bridging academic learning with real-world geophysical applications.
A special highlight was the daily yoga sessions, promoting physical and mental well-being and reinforcing
the importance of holistic development in scientific research. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Shib Sankar Ganguli, Scientist-E, with Dr. Nara Damodara, Scientist D, as co-coordinator. Through expert lectures, technical discussions and interactive sessions, the programme reflected CSIR–NGRI’s commitment to nurturing skilled scientific
talent and supporting sustainable energy exploration.
